I have lived in Whispering Oaks subdivision in Surgoinsville for the past 15 years. It is a subdivision of at least 40 houses and the only internet available is at a speed of 1.5 mbps. I'm very glad that you all are going to start offering these services but as most other commenters are saying it would have been nice to start in the areas of need first. As an employee of TVA, I certainly understand how grids work and know that you have to start in the middle and work out from there. These days the internet is not just a luxury, it is a necessity. My wife has to do so many continuing education hours as part of her job and it is a struggle to get these done with internet that is basically dial up. Again, thanks for the service and hopefully some of this can get expedited to get these services out to those who are in need the most.
